I want to be a choreographer, and I'm only 14, ADVICE?

i know i have the potential I'm really good at all types of dance but ive never had training and i cant afford dance classes. but its my passion to dance.


i practice mostly hip hop but any advice-tips-exercises?

The first response is harsh, but is true.


Now get lessons, but also start looking to see if you can become a school cheerleader or join their dance line. They always need help with choreographing.

If you have never BEEN PROPERLY TAUGHT then why do you think you can TEACH OTHERS. There is more to teaching ANYTHING than just thinking you are good at it.. there is a WAY to teach and if you have never had lessons... the YOU DON'T KNOW THAT WAY.





Start out by TAKING LESSONS... just because you can jump around in your basement with the imagined sound of applause in your ears, does NOT mean you can teach dancing... or that you can even dance.





You wouldn't BELIEVE how many people come up to me when I'm playing and want to 'Audition'... It seems that almost EVERYBODY thinks they can sing and EVERY woman or girl thinks they can dance... and THEY ARE BOTH WRONG. And, it's not just the women and girls... the guys seem to think they can pick up a guitar and immediately blast out some breath taking riff even though they have never had a lesson or even touched a real guitar before





You need to GET REALISTIC and you need to GET TRAINED and that means TAKING LESSONS... and without training, nobody is going to ever take you seriously... and they don't CARE if you can't afford dance lessons... there are plenty of people who CAN afford dance lessons and they will carry that knowledge through the AUDITIONS because you won't go anywhere if you can't get through the auditions.





NOW... get a teacher... you will be glad you did.
Really you need dancing certificates of all types of dance. Probably even ballet, tap and modern.


If you think your good then why not audition for a music video. Work hard to reach the standard and then use the money they pay you to open a dance school.


You do need teaching certificates or people will think your a scam...
