If there was one piece of advice that you wish you had received/followed as a teenager, what would it be?

i would really love to know.If there was one piece of advice that you wish you had received/followed as a teenager, what would it be?
I wish I would have not had sex. I didn't follow that and now I am 14 with a 6 month old.If there was one piece of advice that you wish you had received/followed as a teenager, what would it be?
To fallow God with your whole heart.
Save your money and stay away from the horses neck.
work hard , play hard, live life to the full. if you put 100% in then expect to take 100% out if you put nothing in then dont expect to take anything out
Friends come and go but your family is besides you always....( don't put friends before family)
work hard at school and someday become some body.
Well, it is something that was said to me, I just wish I would have listened: ';Nothing that happens in high school matters. You will probably never see any of these people again in your life!';
I'm 15. I earned some relationship advice. Sometimes your not going to like your man. As long as you still love him thats what matters.
=]

Smile and be smart.
';You dont know anything, so dont assume otherwise.';

I always thought it was just adults being jackasses- but now that iam 24 I realize i STILL dont know anything, and I knew much less then.
Save your money, and some tips on money management and how to avoid debts would have been great !!!
Get Great Grades....Although my parents told me I wasn't always a straight A student!:(
Don't push yourself so hard to get straight A's. Do your best and be happy with that. I worked my butt off to get straight A's and didn't get one scholarship! They gave them all to the rich kids who didn't need them anyway. So if I could go back in time, I'd relax and not stress so much over getting straight A's.
there only two people in this world you can believe toterly its only your parents!!!!!
keep your head down in school.
how to drive. how to make ur own money how to be financially secure and happy
don't have sex
Stay out of trouble and avoid sleazy guys.
You don't go through high school to find your husband you go to find your bridesmaids!

(Boy friends come and go Friends are their forever)
Don't date just one guy have fun and date lots (not sex DATES). Have fun!
My mother always told me to buy property and as a teenager I did not follow her advice. What an idiot.
';Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.';

Wow, i am at a loss, can someone give me significant advice on how to treat my stress and worries?

I am undergoing an immense amount of stress, i am irritable, depressed, and exhausted. Everything is whipping passed me and changing. What can i do to regain my composure, i need to get back on track, get my head in the game. I am thinking about staying at my grandparents for a week. What can i do while i am there to cease my worries, rid of these head aches and save my soul from exploding. Just some simple revival tricks, what do you do when you are stressed?Wow, i am at a loss, can someone give me significant advice on how to treat my stress and worries?
Well start with the basics man, eating right? sleeping right? getting physical activity? Whenever I am sad or upset these are the first things I turn to.

As for the stress, there is only really one way to truly deal with it and that is head on. Try viewing things that worry you as challenges, instead of sitting around and thinking what makes you sad and why, try thinking about possible ways to fix them for a positive outcome. If that doesn't work, forget about them. It is absolutely 100% pointless to worry about issues which you have 0 control over.

Work on you, making yourself happy and doing what you want to do no matter what, and then everything else will seem to fall in place.

If that doesn't work get tested for depression, General anxiety, etc.

Hope this helps!Wow, i am at a loss, can someone give me significant advice on how to treat my stress and worries?
Stress: Employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you use the acupressure massage/tapping on your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). ';Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, and worry, I deeply and completely accept myself';. www.mercola.com searchbar: ';EFT';, %26amp; ';EFT therapists'; - professional is best.

Practise a daily relaxation method, such as http://www.drcoxconsulting.com/managing-鈥?/a> or http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/mindbody鈥?/a> or www.wikihow.com/Meditate and/or Tai Chi, Qi Gong, or yoga. Open an aromatherapy vial and breathe in the scent whenever you need a quick stress release. Check out http://your-mental-health.weebly.com/1.h鈥?/a> about stress, and anxiety, then pages m, and i. - they are necessarily long, comprehensive posts, and won't both fit, here. If still depressed, after employing the above for 2 weeks, see pages 3, and b.
do NOT try alcohol. That will not solve any of your problems. I recommend light to moderate exersise or yoga in the morning. Bubble baths and readingbooks or watching movies in bed, playing with an animal or going for a quiet walk some place nice and not to busy. Dont focus on worries or problems, just focus on how you can make yourself happy and relaxed.
this might sound weird......

but if u masturbate it helps..

and watch funny movies listen to good music, bubble bath a nice cup of coffee (or tea if u dont jrink coffee, like me) umm... and if u talk to a counslor it helps ( most people think talking to a counslor is for mental people... but its not. i just go to a counslor bcuz i like to talk and its good to talk to someone once in a while)
Read ';How to Stop Worrying and Start Living'; by Dale Carnegy.

There are some useful advices and stories about famous people who get rid of depression.

And reading as it is passes off your thoughts and calms.
Oh you sound like me right now....trying to move and get assistance with raising my kid...finding out I am getting laid off...in the midst of going back to school.

It's all very stressful.

Try writing, yoga, other stretching exercises. Meditate. Just relax...
If you are stressed..particularly at work....watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSFr01uAP鈥?/a> and be thankful you are not this guy
Try Alcohol.

Religious: Say someone is about to be an atheist, what would be your best advice to pull him back?

Tell them that they're still following God by converting to atheism (preferably in as flippant and fecetious a manner as possible). But make sure to add that goodness must be the source of their conversion. The thing about the Tree of Knowledge of Good %26amp; Evil is that the curse comes with a blessing: the knowledge of good and evil includes the ability to distinguish between the two. If religion causes a person to do evil, and atheism causes them to do good, then by God, atheism is as Christian as Christianity.

P.S. - That answer gave me exactly 666 points. :(Religious: Say someone is about to be an atheist, what would be your best advice to pull him back?
I don't. The unforgivable sin outlined somewhere in Matthew (I forget easy) says that anyone who truly confesses with their mouth against the Holy Spirit shall never be forgiven.

Therefore, and atheist has condemned the full Trinity, meaning that they are, unfortunately, hopeless. However, I do my best to pull them back. If they live a converted life, they might have a chance. God is merciful.Religious: Say someone is about to be an atheist, what would be your best advice to pull him back?
And now, beloved, marvel not that I tell you these things; for why not speak of the atonement of Christ, and attain to a perfect knowledge of him, as to attain to the knowledge of a resurrection and the world to come? Behold, my brethren, he that prophesieth, let him prophesy to the understanding of men; for the Spirit speaketh the truth, and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be; wherefore, these things are manifested unto us plainly, for the salvation of our souls.
Well, if they were sure it was the right thing for them to be an atheist, I'd wish them bon voyage. If they weren't quite sure, I'd want to hear their reasons for and against, and then I'd discuss those reasons. That's if they wanted my opinion, of course.
I would suggest he study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. Examine the reasons for belief in the Bible as the inspired word of God. Find out from them why the world is so filled with wickedness. Why we grow old and die? Will we ever see our dead loved ones again? What is my purpose in life?
I think that don't do anything, let him experience for himself the powers of the Lord. He has the free will to do whatever he wants, and nobody has the right to try and change that for him. Let the big guy take care of it.... he always does
Well if it was a few hundred years ago, they would kill him.

Now they just try to misrepresent and destroy science.
Pull him back from what? If someone wants to be an atheist he has the right to do so. We all have to pay for what we do in life.
You could try asking him to present ';simple evidence'; to back up an atheist viewpoint.
Why pull him back? You should let people make their own choices.
So atheism is falling off a cliff? It isn't. Its jumping with a parachute!
the best way take care of it is to PRAY about it.
oic wat you did thar
JUST GO FOR IT, MAN!!!!

I am a freshman who would love to be different by being mysterious.Any advice?

It would be very much appreciated. Even if its just the tiniest of tips. all tips are welcome.

Thanks soooooo much! Have a wonderful evening and day!

Huggles and Kisses,

MariahI am a freshman who would love to be different by being mysterious.Any advice?
Smile all day long. People will wonder what you got they don't, why you're happy when they're just pushin through.I am a freshman who would love to be different by being mysterious.Any advice?
define different? you are different than anyone because you are individual... First, never put your business out because people will use against you and by not having it out in public, you are mysterious bc no one will know exactly what makes you tick and etc... It will keep people guessing... you get me?
talk like mr.miyagi.
dress in all black from head to toe...thats mysterious enough for me.
May be you are mysterious already being a man and using this Mariah name which sounds feminine.

No offend. But I mean, it seems that you love being mysterious and so you are starting to be so.

Anyway from my experience, usually very open people are looked at as mysterious and people never believe that they are that open. They look behind the words they r saying to find what they mean but they find nothing and so they believe they are sooooooo mysterious.
You could try being evasive...one of my mates does it but it can get very annoying like he is!Keep the evasiveness for people you dont know and be yourself with your mates...could work.
Be 100% your self you will see just how mysterious you really are
Just turn up wearing a mask. Walk round in it all day until someone askes you to take it off, keep doing so till your the talk of the place, then reveal your attractive face and make everyone want ya!

My cats have become insufferable. Any advice would be appreciated.?

OK have these three cats鈥?.The problem is that they all are finicky and each one wants different meals each day. One loves tuna, but hates salmon, the other hates salmon, but likes tuna, but only if I put a pinch of salt and mayo on it鈥nd the other hates fish, but likes roast beef鈥?only roast beef. I get so confused. If I feed them the wrong thing, they stand around meowing all day. It is driving me crazy! They will not eat cat food at all! They just pretend to bury it, and walk away.My cats have become insufferable. Any advice would be appreciated.?
Your cats clearly know how to own you.

Take away all their wet and human food. Feed only a high quality dry cat food (nutro is my favorite brand). When they are hungry they will eat. I guarantee. They may whine for a little while, but don't give in.My cats have become insufferable. Any advice would be appreciated.?
Well, they have YOU well trained:-) My Gracie has her Purina Indoor Cat chow in her dish all day(hard/dry) Around lunch time, I open a can of Fancy Feast and give her 1/3 of the can. I have found, the more gravy on the canned food, the better she likes it. Well after all, she is a little southern girl, she likes her gravy:-) I have cut way back on the seafood because I've heard it can cause bladder infections. Offer them one or two types of ';wet food'; and keep just one good type of dry available all the time. They will learn. One other thing, don't add extra salt or mayo to their food. Neither is healthy for your cats.
You have spoiled kittys. Some people would love a meower cat!!they call them talkers.
They totally have you whipped. You own the cat, it doesn't own you. It's an animal and you are the human. Just like kids, you can't let them walk all over you or you'll have fussy spoiled kids hence your cats meowing and being picky. They're going to have to learn to take what they get sometimes. They're hungy, they'll eat. They'll be stubborn but eventually they're going to have to eat. You're not starving it, you're telling it that this is what food they're getting today whether they like it or not. Do you feed them soft food? If so, try a multi flavored dry cat food.
Oh boy, what a dilemma!

Either you can feed them what they want, or you can put down the dry food and ignore them. If they get hungry enough, they'll eat it. But yes, cats can be extremely insistent.
Solutions for a cat fancier?

None that you would like. Please don't be upset by that answer…I have a cat and am almost as fond of him as I am of my three-year old pitch black lab…except when the little bestud keeps trying to 'capture' the curser on this PC's screen.
1. You should not add salt and mayo on the cat's food.

2. They are too spoiled, buy them some good tasty cat food (cats love Royal Canin, especially the type ';exigent'; or ';indoor';, they hate Hill's though) and leave it there, they will eventually eat it.

3. If they don't like it, try mixing it with the foods they like at the beginning.

4. If you cook for them anyway, just cook some tuna and roast beef and leave it there, since they all eat something else they'll figure out whose is which, I don't understand why you are driven crazy, just prepare their meals and give it to them and don't spoil them.
a) Follow the advice of the previous answers.

b) Feed them in separate rooms once in the morning and once in the evening. This will better help you organize what you are feeding them and it will also discipline your cats so they know when to eat.

They way you are currently feeding them, they are likely to get diabetes and other diseases. If you think they are annoying now, just wait until you have to provide constant medical care.
Take away their wet food all together and feed them only the dry food. Don't give in, if the dry food is the only food they have, they WILL eat it. And train them to all eat at the same time each day, unless you just want to leave the dry food out all day for them.

Good luck,

a cat's meow is like a baby's cry
first person to answer is incorrect, actually, some cats *won't* eat just cuz they're hungry - I've seen cats whose livers have shut down because of it. The trouble is, they get too hungry and start to feel sick, so they feel less like eating, then their livers slow down and they feel sicker and less like eating…

another alternative is to mix something they will eat with something less complicated for you - like another canned cat food, or dry food, and gradually wean them off the complicated option. As in, start with just a hint of the new food - just enough they might eat it 'by accident' and build up…

  • I just got blue swedish duck eggs that will be hatchng soon any advice?

i also got chicken eggsI just got blue swedish duck eggs that will be hatchng soon any advice?
    !!! CONGRADULATIONS !!!

You need to make sure that you raise the humidity. Add extra water in the water rings. This allows the shell to soften up a lil in helping the duckling and chicks pip a hole in it and hatch. This also prevents the duckling from sticking to the inside of the egg shells.

Befor they hatch or you see a pip(hole) in the egg, you need to get cheese cloth(at local stores), or get a thin towel as possible. Place it under all the eggs that should hatch. This helps not let them bleed to death because the wire on the bottom of the incubator can cut open there belly button.

Also make sure that the air holes are opened.

You need to have the brooder ready. The brooder can be a old dog cage or best a long plastic storage bin. With a heat lamp not too close so that the ducklings and chicks will not get too hot, or too cold. Make sure that on the bottom of the cage has eather puppy pads or newspaper so they will not slip and hurt themselves. Provide lots of water as they will drink is tired, show them where it is. DONT put Feed in until they have been in the brooder for 1 hour. This will allow them to streaghthen up.

They are to eat starter grower feed. It needs to be nonmedicated fro ducklings. Chickens can also eat this. Ask your manager or worker about that feed. Then when they are 3 weeks or older, start to introduce the ducks to cracked corn. The feed is at tractor supply stores. ANd when the chickens are 3 months old introduce them to it as well.

They need to be kept indoors until there feathered up. If its warm then the ducks can live outside at 1 month and the chickens at 2 months. The cage needs to be safe from preditors. And safe from weather. Add chciken wire around the penso coons, cyotes, and fox cant reach there paws through the pen and hurt the chickens and ducks. THey need a roof hat is tuff from bad weather and from flying preditors like hawks and owls. Inside needs to be nesting areas for both ducks and chickens. Ducks are to have a doghouse with straw in it because they lay eggs on the ground. Chickens need a nesting box that is a couple feet off the ground. Chickens also need a roost, the roost can be a wooden rod that is from one side of the cage to other. They feel safe if there up high and ducks dont roost so make sure on the bottom of the cage is hay or straw. Ducks need a water pond to swim in. Dont go through the hassle of building a pond. Buy a kiddy pool, they love those. And alsways access to feed and water.

I hoped I helped you out.

    !!! Good Luck !!!,

    Bethani

ps..... They can live together because mine do. I have 4 chickens and 4 ducks livn together.

When adult they can both eat cracked or scratch corn....I just got blue swedish duck eggs that will be hatchng soon any advice?
Make sure you have the brooder set up BEFORE they hatch. That way, you can make sure the temp is steady and correct, and that everything is functioning as it should be.

Also, you can not house baby chicks and baby ducklings together. They require different food and levels of heat. Ducklings don't need heat as long as chicks. And medicated feed would kill the ducklings.

First time mom to be very soon, would like advice on how to take care of new born, advice on the delivery etc?

    Hi all,

this is my first pregnancy, am due in 6 weeks, would like any ideas, advice, tips on how to prepare for the delivery, anything odd to expect that my ob/gyn isnt telling me..... and offcourse how to take care of my new born in the first week esp. the first night/day.

Thanks.First time mom to be very soon, would like advice on how to take care of new born, advice on the delivery etc?
Lift those knees high to your ears because the Lamaze course doesn't prepare you for the push. (I am a dad that has been there for all four sons and the son coming in SIX WEEKS!) As for the first few weeks, bond with the child. breast feed him/her often, crying is usually a sign that they need to be burped. Don't let them sit in their own poo or urine, it will leave them sore. Learn to be giving, because that will be your new role. If your husband works, remember he does need to go to work, so let him sleep and, sorry, accept that your baby will wake up. If you let them sleep in your bed, (we have) it will allow you to breast feed and nap, don't worry, babies are tougher than you think and you are a far lighter sleeper than you think. If your husband is taking a leave, and you aren't breast feeding, he should have equal duties. However, if you are breastfeeding, the duties will never be equal because you are the food provider. Make sure you see the lactation specialist, breast feeding isn't as easy to do as you think (the first time it is a trick) Most of all, love your child much. He/she is going to take your cues about life from day one, and if you are happy and in love with him/her and your husband, it will set the table for the next 100 years of his/her life.First time mom to be very soon, would like advice on how to take care of new born, advice on the delivery etc?
well i had a c-section....after 17 hours of labor!!!!! dont stress out... your a mommy now....
i was worried how i would handle things with a nwe born, but to be honest a natural instinct came over me and i just knew wat to do, everything kinda fell into place....i wasnt able to breastfeed as long as i wanted, but the week or so i did was amazing so if you can, do.

as for the birth, i didnt know wat to expect having not gone to any birthing classes and not being told anything by my MW, i was induced as i was 2 weeks overdue, and that i am told increases the pain, but i only had gas and air and even then i didnt have anything for the last 3hours of my 12hour labour. i was also very lucky and hardly tore as well, if you dont want stitches let your MW know asap, i was lucky and mine helped give birth without much tearing, and it was baby's shoulders that tore me too.....good luck with your birth, also try www.babycentre.co.uk i found that really helpful, so many mums giving advice and helping each other, also a fair few birthing stories too....good luck and most importantly, enjoy your baby xx
My advice is to drink plenty of water before you go to deliver. They usually wont allow you any while you are delivering. Get lots of rest now because you probaly wont get any for months to come. If you are going to get an epidural wait untill you really need it because it can slow the birthing process. As far as taking care of your baby, you will figure that out. Just love it and hold it and feed it and keep its diaper clean and it will be happy. That is the most precious time, remember to enjoy it because it only takes a few weeks for your baby to want down and now want you to hold it any more. I miss that time so much.
    read these.
every woman is different when it comes 2 pregnancy when i went into labour 2 and a half months ago i was really scared but i hap my partner with me in the room so that really helped me alot i also had the gas and the epidural and 13 and a half hours later my beautiful baby girl was born.with the epidural u cant move at all 2 help ease the pain it just numbs ur whole body. make sure u are comfortable with whatever u choose as ur pain relif... i hope all goes well with the delivery of ur baby.and good luck

Does anyone have any advice, on how i should be learning web development coding, like in which order ?

like say html, xhtml, javascript, etcc. or html, xhtml, php, which order do you suggest ?Does anyone have any advice, on how i should be learning web development coding, like in which order ?
I don't think there's an utterly independent order. Some of the items fall logically together by tier.

    Presentation/View - Browser Tier

X/HTML, CSS, DOM, JavaScript - each of these has its own peculiarities in the different browsers. I suggest starting with X/HTML, since it provides the presentation structure for a document. The appearance attributes of the HTML are modified by CSS and can be manipulated by JavaScript operations on the DOM. As you become more adept in X/HTML, you'll see the need for the addition of CSS and JavaScript - sort of an organic thing.

    Program/Controller - Web App Tier

Perl, PHP, C++, Java, etc...pick one and get good at it (I'm a Java guy). This is where the traffic-cop control goes. What's going to be done and which program is going to do it gets handled here. The skills you'll gain by learning any of these will be extensible back to your JavaScripting and forward to the next tier.

    Model/Data - Business Tier

The abstract data-model that represents the business lives here. Your Controller tier language will be useful and you'll probably need to add SQL for addressing databases.

The suggested order is based on the target of developing an all-around developer who can do everything. You may prefer to do fewer things better. I know Java developers who couldn'y style (code CSS) their way out of a wet paper bag. I know UIEs who have no clue what a class is.

I'm bettin' you'll get a bunch of answers to this question. Read 'em all and think about what you enjoy and want.Does anyone have any advice, on how i should be learning web development coding, like in which order ?
Start with HTML and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Then you can learn how to manipulate the HTML objects using Javascript. Then learn PHP and MySQL or whatever server languages you're interested in.
Start with basic HTML...then go to Java...
learn html and css and be able to remember them at the ability to write the code yourself witout using any kind of resource.

then after these, if you really want to learn php then learn it and when you've mastered it by mastered i mean being able to code a basic client managment system coding it by head no notes or copying scripts.

then you can learn xhtml then xml then javascript and ajax then you can combine these knowledges into php amd make your crm system look cool.

all these knowledges combined should take about 5 years to study and practice and remember your code and create a few applications of of it.

I will be getting dentures, partial upper plate in Feb. Any advice for me?

i've never had real dentures before, just a temporary and it was really weird and awkward. Then I had bridgework with an implant. After 20 years it is falling out and I don't want to do the implant again. They also had to pull one more tooth but I won't let them pull any more unless they are rotten. I'll take any advice you've got.

Live well and do good! Thanks!I will be getting dentures, partial upper plate in Feb. Any advice for me?
Are you sure you don't want another implant? Implant procedures/materials have greatly improved over the last 20 years, so maybe it might be a better choice for you than a partial denture now. Sometimes, if your teeth situation isn't an ideal case for partials, they may not be very comfortable or stable for you either.

But if you are still having the partial, have you looked into the new kind, called Valplast. It's softer and more comfortable, but is only recommended for certain cases.

    Good luck.

  • I'm 3 weeks late but not pregnant... does anyone have advice as to what could be wrong?

I'm 27 years old. Never really had any problems with my menstrual cycle but suddenly it is 3 weeks late. I'm still getting the cramps and feelings but nothing is happening. My tummy is bloated and it feels very tender. I have done a pregnancy test but that came back negative. I've just moved overseas and don't have access to a doctor. Can anyone give some advice or point me to some useful websites? Thanks.I'm 3 weeks late but not pregnant... does anyone have advice as to what could be wrong?
hmm...you could be pregnant in spite of the negative pregnancy test. Sometimes it takes awhile for the pregnancy hormone (progesterone) in the body to rise to a level high enough for you to test positive on the pregnancy test.

See if you have any of the other pregnancy symptoms: breast tenderness, fatigue, nausea, itchy skin, food cravings, burping, or acne.

Another possibility could be cysts in your ovaries...PCOS, or you could have endometriosis.I'm 3 weeks late but not pregnant... does anyone have advice as to what could be wrong?
hmmm look up your calendar -- have you had any ';unsafe'; relationships -- you are the only one that can answer this question unless the ';boy friend'; checks this site-- hope it helps...

ps. if you did have a relationship -- then time to move back from over-seas back to the main land..where there are doctors...bon voyage.
Okay, even though the Pregnancy test did say its Negative doesnt mean anything... I Didn't find out that i was pregnant until I was 8 weeks Pregnant. So it could be that its to early to tell anything.
This can be because of stress, weight loss, or being sick. Don't worry.
a g/f i dated went through a lot of monthlies like that, we would have sex and wthin 24 hours later her period would release and problems would fade away could be the pug not letting go or something but it always worked.

Anyone Have information or advice? It's be great! :)?

Okay so I've TTC Baby #1 with no luck :( I ended up getting my period yesterday. But I was wondering if anyone had any tips, advice or websites for ttc parents. Or anything that would help. Thank you so so much.Anyone Have information or advice? It's be great! :)?
Aww, I'm sorry sweetie, I know the feeling. How long have you been TTC? It took my husband and I nearly 2 years till we got pregnant due to my irregular cycles and also being on the pill for years - so my body had to readjust. What actually helped me was tracking each period on this website I listed below and then checking for body temperature and signs of ovulation. To be honest, it helped, but after 2 years, we chose to buy the ovulation predictor tests this past Nov. I used the ClearBlue easy test and it would pop up a smile to indicate if I was ovulating - I used it for 7 days and the 7th day I got the smiley face and now we're finally pregnant! Generally, they say if a woman has a normal 28 day cycle, you ovulate near or around day 14 after period, that was completely not my case though. Check out this site, it has alot of useful info and tools to help you ttc. Good luck and stay positive!Anyone Have information or advice? It's be great! :)?
Other than just taking prenatals (which is a good idea), just keep your hopes up, try and stay relaxed about it, and keep trying. It took us more than a year of trying, but we were finally able to conceive naturally.

We tried all the advice - having sex every other day while I was supposedly fertile, keeping track of my ovulation cycles, etc. The most important thing for us ended up just being persistence and a low-stress cycle.

A couple of important things, though - if you or your partner smokes, stop. Keep alcohol in moderation. And it would be good advice for your partner to stay out of hot tubs while you are TTC. All of these things can decrease sperm counts and affect your hormones, making it more difficult for you to try to conceive.

    Good luck!
now i am going to be fully honest here. my husband and i got pregnant within two months of trying. we had sex every night. go buy some of the his and hers lube, sorry if being to graphic. the stuff is great. the most fun way to make a baby. :)

my period is never normal, so we had to do it every day.
have sex every other day this way the sperm is accumilated and relax. try to track your ovulation time. use ovulation kits to help. good luck on average it takes a healthy couple a year of trying to get pregnant.
Start taking prenatal vitamins and taking care of yourself as if you are pregnant. Chart your ovulation and get ovulation tests. Babycenter.com is a really good website, and also ivillage.com.
First off definitly try the OPK's. I tried for 9 months to get preggo then the first month of using them i got preggo. As soon as I saw a positive OPK i had sex every day til i saw the surge go away and that was like a week. And here is a cool fact i saw on a pbs special. When a woman orgasms after the man has ejaculated, the cervix dips into the sperm acting like a vaccum and sucking it up. So after he does his thing in you, elevate your hips and make yourself have an orgasm. Then stay there with your hips elevated as long as possible. Good luck and lots of baby dust!!

I want to be a choreographer, and I'm only 14, ADVICE?

i know i have the potential I'm really good at all types of dance but ive never had training and i cant afford dance classes. but its my passion to dance.

i practice mostly hip hop but any advice-tips-exercises?

i really want this and im willing to work hard!I want to be a choreographer, and I'm only 14, ADVICE?
The first response is harsh, but is true.

Now get lessons, but also start looking to see if you can become a school cheerleader or join their dance line. They always need help with choreographing.

Best of LuckI want to be a choreographer, and I'm only 14, ADVICE?
If you have never BEEN PROPERLY TAUGHT then why do you think you can TEACH OTHERS. There is more to teaching ANYTHING than just thinking you are good at it.. there is a WAY to teach and if you have never had lessons... the YOU DON'T KNOW THAT WAY.

Start out by TAKING LESSONS... just because you can jump around in your basement with the imagined sound of applause in your ears, does NOT mean you can teach dancing... or that you can even dance.

You wouldn't BELIEVE how many people come up to me when I'm playing and want to 'Audition'... It seems that almost EVERYBODY thinks they can sing and EVERY woman or girl thinks they can dance... and THEY ARE BOTH WRONG. And, it's not just the women and girls... the guys seem to think they can pick up a guitar and immediately blast out some breath taking riff even though they have never had a lesson or even touched a real guitar before

You need to GET REALISTIC and you need to GET TRAINED and that means TAKING LESSONS... and without training, nobody is going to ever take you seriously... and they don't CARE if you can't afford dance lessons... there are plenty of people who CAN afford dance lessons and they will carry that knowledge through the AUDITIONS because you won't go anywhere if you can't get through the auditions.

NOW... get a teacher... you will be glad you did.
Really you need dancing certificates of all types of dance. Probably even ballet, tap and modern.

If you think your good then why not audition for a music video. Work hard to reach the standard and then use the money they pay you to open a dance school.

You do need teaching certificates or people will think your a scam...

I am 17 years old and considering joining the navy, suggestions and advice would be appericiated.?

What kind of advice are you looking for? I enjoyed the 21 Years I served in the Navy. I've been to countries and done things that most people wouldn't or couldn't pay to do. I learned a skill that has served me well since retiring from the Navy. I have made lifelong freinds and met some people that I hope never to see again. I Learned a lot from being in the Navy.....I am 17 years old and considering joining the navy, suggestions and advice would be appericiated.?
How come all these people say ';go to college first, then go in as an officer'; You are not guaranteed Officer just cause you have a college degree. Just ask three of our deppers who graduated from Ohio State, Cleveland State, and Edinboro College in PA. They had anywhere between a 2.5 and 3.0 GPA but they did not qualify for officer.

Since you didn't give us any background I can't give you any suggestions or advice. I have 21 years in the navy and now recruiting in Ohio. Let me know if you have any questionsI am 17 years old and considering joining the navy, suggestions and advice would be appericiated.?
i am 17 and i enlisted in the us navy.advice study for the asvab pass it with flying colors.research all jobs because chances are if you have your mind set on one job you wont get it the navy is packed so only certain jobs are open.my personal suggestion go for it i feel like its a good choice so far the people you meet the feeling you get when you enlist in crazy i had alot of chances to Attend college but i still went military
I am your same age and am thinking of the same thing. I am applying to the United States Naval Academy and several colleges for NROTC. If i don't make it in, i am probably going to enlist.

If you have good grades and the capability to lead, i would highly suggest that you become and officer.
Why don't you get a college degree first? You can be an officer with that degree when you join the navy.
YOU WILL NEED A PARENTAL PERMISSION SLIP IF ONLY 17!! IF YOU JOIN I WOULD GET IN SHAPE BEFORE GOING TO BASIC TRAINING!!! IT WILL GIVE YOU AN EDGE!!!
Little children don't belong in the military. Go play with your barbies instead.
Goto college. Take NROTC and enter as an officer.
go to the marines instead, its better... do you get sea sick?

I am considering moving to Hawaii after I am done with school. Do you have any advice for me?

I am a 26 years old black male and really thinking about moving to Hawaii just for a few years to see what it is like. I like to go out and party every now and then and my major in college was Journalism. I was wondering do you locals have any advice for me as I consider this move to the island.I am considering moving to Hawaii after I am done with school. Do you have any advice for me?
First, you'd want to move to Oahu (consdering you like to go out and party every now and then). Plus there's a lot of activity in town.

You'll be fine out here. It may be a culture shock to you but it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Make sure you save up and get an apartment/house before you move out here. It is expensive to live on any island, but it's not impossible to make a living out here. Getting a job may be tough, what with the economy and all.I am considering moving to Hawaii after I am done with school. Do you have any advice for me?
If you want advice regarding Hawaii, there are many articles at Hawaiian Expedition that might help you decide. The islands, weather, cuisine, etc. are explained in the site.

    Very informative.
make sure you have all your finances, taxes, houseing all set up before you move and and sure u are able to keep up with the high prices over here

    good luck :D
    dont.
This is my standard answer that I give. There are good things about living in Hawaii and there are some not so good thing about living in in Hawaii.

Hawaii is expensive. Ninety percent of everything is shipped in this is the main reason it cost more. Gas prices are coming down it is under three dollars.

Hawaii is just as safe as anywhere else maybe safer. We have everything the mainland has except for a few restaurants and stores. The water that surrounds us does not make much of a difference.

No Daylight Savings Time we never move out clock forward or back.

We have an excellent bus system on Oahu. If you are willing to take the time then it will cut down on gas costs. You can have car but you might want to take the bus most of the time and use a car only when really needed.

Hawaii is one of most culturally diverse place in America. We have several cultures here. Hawaiians being the most obvious. We also have a diverse Asian population; Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese (sp?). All these culture differ. And it is best if you learn the differences.

If you love food Hawaii is one of the best places to be. Due to our many cultures we have many different kinds of food. Try them all.

Due to Hawaii's history there is some racism against Whites. Some can't take this. I am not implying that the Racism is right because it is not. I am half White so the racism is aimed against me. Some will tell that you can't get jobs if you are White, however this is untrue my father is White and he never had trouble getting a job. You my experience racism however you cannot let the experience color your views.

Since we have many different cultures in Hawaii there are many set of ';rules'; all of them slightly different. Make an effort to learn. When you make an effort to learn the the differences then you will be accepted.

Not everybody who lives in Hawaii is Hawaiian. To be Hawaiian to must have Hawaiian blood. Or be of Hawaiian ancestry. If you are like me and have lived in Hawaii all their life but have no Hawaiian blood you are considered a Local.

We also have a dialect of Pidgin Creole English. Or it is called Pidgin for short. This language was created during the plantation days. We had workers from all over Asia and the Pacific they all spoke different languages and the needed a way to communicate. So a new language grew and was created. There a some who hear Pidgin an the equate it with lack of intelligence. Do not do this!

Then there is what can be called ';Rock Fever'; some people tend to feel trapped because they can't drive anywhere else but Hawaii. There is no way you can drive into another state.

If you need to fly home to the Mainland then 1) take more time because you have to fly over an ocean first. 2) Will cost more because you have to fly
you will not find work here. nobody needs journalist here. too many journalists already. most of them are freelance and most of the time, and a lot of them unemployed, working as waiters and pineapple pickers just so they have have food to eat. if you were a doctor or a nurse, then for sure, you can find work here. for some reason, a lot of writers like to come here, because they think they can be inspired by the beauty of this place..but then they end up homeless and become burdens to the government welfare programs. when much of these funds are needed by the indigenous people here. please stay where you are. nobody is going to hire a ';journalist'; fresh out of college. it's not going to happen. we have enough homeless white people here. please stay in america. thank you

If you could give someone just one piece of weight loss advice to follow, what would it be?

    Be realistic.

A lot of advice goes toward telling people to eat less, exercise more, eat certain things, not eat certain things, move at certain times, etc.

But to me, it's about being able to maintain it. And the best way to do that is to allow yourself time to cheat a little bit, or take that one day off from the gym. Too intense too fast, and you won't be able to keep it up.

Best of luck!If you could give someone just one piece of weight loss advice to follow, what would it be?
eat and think healthy and exerciseIf you could give someone just one piece of weight loss advice to follow, what would it be?
If you want it bad enough it WILL happen.

  • I think I may be seriously depressed, can anyone offer any good advice?

I'll try to only mention what's pertinent. I can't remember the last time I've been happy or if I've ever been. I live in NorCal now, but grew up in NYC - just moved 1.5 yrs ago. Contrary to popular opinion, I hate CA, or just really miss home. I've been living in a perpetual state of sadness and anxiety and it's starting to manifest physiologically now with aches, migraines, and serious lack of energy. I have no health insurance to speak to a Dr and I literally have no friends. I can't take this anymore - need to find a way out. Make matters worst, I have a live-in GF that I totally believe doesn't understand me nor my situation. I'm sure she just thinks I鈥檓 a jerk, but I know there is more to it. I feel like I'm trapped in a corner by my own and external forces and in a few days I鈥檓 bound to crack. I don鈥檛 want to hurt myself nor anyone, but I feel so lost Please help, I'm begging.

Only legitimate reponses please, thanks.I think I may be seriously depressed, can anyone offer any good advice?
seek some professional helpI think I may be seriously depressed, can anyone offer any good advice?
The only right answer is to go get some professional help. You need to see a therapist or a psychiatrist. There are too many medications out there that can help you (with therapy) to live so miserable.
i think thet this site is wery helpfull

    http://www.theaones.com/hypnosis.htm
    start here: www.depression.org
Please get out of where you are, depression is very real. You need to find a place that makes you happy, whether it is going back to the East coast or somewhere else. If your GF isn't understanding you - you may need to find someone who does. Please get out and get some help - there are many free places you can call to get someone to talk to. I feel for you and you will be in my prayers -- Best of luck!!
    # Don't use alcohol to calm down.

    # Play with your child or pet - smile, laugh and have fun. Let it go.

Eat foods that are good for you - lots of fresh grains, fruits and vegetables.

    Reduce caffeine and sugars.

    Dring lots of water.

Relax in the tub with a nice long hot bath.

Take a walk - a nice peaceful walk, and reflect on good things.

Take a vacation - get away from it all.

Play sports or exercise aerobically - get the anxiety worked out.
first, stop whining... second, stop litening to liberals... third, take charge of your life and do something positive with it.
Well I am sorry to hear that I have been very depressed myself latley but I dont let it take control. I have been getting the migrain headaches as well. Although its probably from thinking and crying. I love CA so you must be home sick or in the wrong part. I have no insurance either but I don't feel I need a doctor maybe a friend yeah at least you have a gf, my BF is in jail again. I live with his parents and took care of his grandma the past 3 years and she died last week imagine how alone I am now feeling. I have a 3yr old who drives me nuts above everything else just mentioned. So I have to stay strong for the two of us. Last night I was so depressed after court for my bf who will probably be away for all the holidays again and our daughters b-day. So I scared the heck out of his mom with an alien mask it was so FUNNY!! I felt better so much so I think you should try scaring your GF. It will make you laugh so hard if you get her really good!
You can actually apply for health insurance that is based on your income. A lot of studies show that depression can be caused by an imbalance of chemicals in your body. Try to eat better or to exercise. I know when I experienced depression, I felt like there was no way out. I called a doctor and asked a few questions. He told me about the imbalance and told me to exercise for 30 mintues a day. I immediately felt for energized. So I joined a kick boxing class. It was great. But it isn't for everybody. Maybe take up a hobby. You might discover a hidden talent. Try to keep your mind focused on the things you have in your life that are good.
go back home or go to an amusment park or start daiting or go shopping you cold also buy some cute stuff for you hope it works out
dump the girl cuz she's making you sad. try joining a club. i'll be your friend dogmicjoe@yahoo.com. try joining a church or a youth org.
You could use some counsel and maybe move back home near family and friends. Changing a new job is hard, but change is good. Concentrate on getting yourself back on track. It there is no real relationship with the GF then move away. You need to take care of yourself and figure out what you want out of life. You only get one so go and learn new things. If there is no health Ins. you can go to your local mental health clinic and ask questions there first. You can also go to a book store and get books on depression and anxiety, and there are other books on self help. One day at a time. Sit down and think before you act. I sure hope you have an understanding family that would take you in till you can get back on your feet. For the migraines get exercise like walking and eat healthy.
Like others said, see a professional. You should be able to get assistance for this.

    Good luck!
Depression runs in my family and I highly suggest that you see a doctor. I take lexapro for my depression and my mother takes zoloft and they both help us allot. You might be really surprised at the results. Please go and see a doctor,,, and there is help out there for prescription assistance. Check around and good luck to you.
the important thing is to never lose hope or to give up. I know life can be difficult at times ( I have been through depression before myself), and no one can truly know what it is you are going through. Things are never as bad as they seem, really they are not.

What I would suggest if you can't afford to go to a therapist or psychologist is to go to your local community clinic or social services agency. They can put you in contact with someone who can help you in your situation. These people can offer a world of help. You can even e-mail me if you need someone to talk to.

Keep strong and keep up hope. Things will get better. God bless you.
I am severely depress too. I was treated for years. Nothing worked. Sometimes things just happen that way. I know of many who have been helped and some who have not. The odds are you can be helped so check it out and the sooner the better.
First thing thats important...is that you need to relax. Do some deep breathing...and concentrate on the actual breathing.

Now...think of 2 things your thankful for.

What you need to do...is sit down and decide what you want in life. Then you need to start forming some short term, mid level and long term goals. Then you have to do some brainstorming on how to get there.

Where you live is not a huge deal...its the hopelessness that you exhibit that is more scary.

You need to find hope...and a long range goal.
go play World of Warcraft. that will help you get away from life for awhile until you feel ';normal'; again.
I'm no expert but it hurts to see ppl suffering. I believe you have to dig deep to find what gives you most happiness and pleasure and persue in finding that. I believe you are strong enough to overcome this.
You can get health care that is paid for based on your income. I recommend Lexapro....it worked for me.

You can also get counseling with or without your girlfriend.

Last but not least, you need to get busy. If you have too much time to think you will get too consumed with yourself. Go volunteer just for one day at the salvation army to serve turkey for thanksgiving. You will see what a difference it makes in your mind frame.
    move back home

try a herbal remedy such as St.John's wort(cheaper then a prescription and takes about 2 weeks to work)
I would get on anti depressant, and just make payments to your dr. if you have to. Most will even keep you loaded up with samples if you can't afford them.

There is a new one that might help you, check out www.depressionhurts.com.
Seek professional help as soon as possible.
I'm so sorry you feel this way. I worked many years in psychiatry.

First don't worry what your girlfriend or anyone else thinks. Whatever you are feeling is real to you and that's all that matters.

You are what's important here! Go to see a professional ASAP! Do what you have to do to save you. Find your inner light and strength that has sustained you this far in life to help guide you to your self and peace, but you must have help. Go to a free clinic in your area or log on to NAMI.org to locate some place in your area.

Get your blood tested as well, it could very well be something organic that has caused these symptoms your entire life.

By all means pray! GOD loves you and wants you happy and whole!
I think you definately need therapy. Most cities have mental health clinics who charge you based on your income. Some of the churches might be able to refer you to someone. Some churches have their own counselors and so it probably would not cost you anything.. About your GF...she may need to be gotten out of the picture unitl you are better. especially if she isn't encouraging you and or tyring to help you. There's nothing wrong with taking a relationship break. Sometimes it's hard to have to try to take care of someone else's needs when you have severe needs yourself.
First off, let your gf read what we are reading....it doesn't seem as though you are a jerk when you write..it's just that when you are in front of her your emotions might take over...i say let her read this b/c she'll get to add her own emotion and interpret it in a way she prolly has never had...that's first....

Although you might have these challenges ahead of you with living in a new environment, lack of benefits etc...But, you must change your mind....easier said than done(i know..i feel the same way you do.) but that's the trick to life that not many figure out..that's why suicide rate is high as hell..not many people can endure the mental challenges to make it through..and look at what people do..they take the easy way out...it's our nature to take the easy way out...Everyone wants to find that magic pill to help them lose weight, they rob banks to get rich quick and so on and so forth...nobody wants to struggle....but allow me to inspire you about the benefit of struggle..

okay, do you know about the caterpillar? well, there is a point in a caterpillars life that it weaves a cuccoon and totally changes into a butterfly..but during that stage, the caterpillar must force itself out of it's cuccoon..during that struggle, the muscles strengthen and enzymes are forced to the wings....and, if someone was to come along and do the butterfly a ';favor,'; it wouldn't survive because those natural processes wouldn't of occured..you see, the struggle is salvation.

As far as your outlook, you are being pessimistic...A good saying for optimism goes,';Face the Sun and your shadow will always fall behind you.'; You would be surprised at how many people actually think the same way you do..man, i know i do...i'm still conteplating suicide...but it's just that i now know the truth...The harsh reality of life is finally realizing that nobody is coming to your rescue...it's just you all by yourself...BUT, after the grief settles, you finally realize that YOU is all that's needed...YOU are enough..nobody knows you better than yourself..you know your strengths and weaknesses...there is nobody more in charge of your destiny than you!

My advice is to find out that secret to the trick that every1 is missing...we must remain strong and explore this negative emotion..try living in the moment when you are at your worst..think deeply to what's goin on in your head..It's a courageous thing to do...And if all else fails, just say **** IT and say,'; You know what, i don't care what life throws at me..I can take it b/c i'm a man.'; But you know what, that never happens..this universe tends to unfold as it should...

So yeah..i would say good luck..but **** luck...i know you would want to conquer this dilemna on your own esteem..do it for all who have failed..you will be a hero! after all, that's what a hero practices...altruism...that's what it's all about...ONE*
I would speak to your GF and be HONEST, take a day at a time, nothing too hard, it may not help but there is a large percentage of the population suffering the same to a greater or lesser degree....A doctor is only going to prescribe drugs that treat the symptoms and not the cause....identify the problems and get rid of them....it is very easy to get these things out of proportion in your mind...

all your fellow suffers feel the same( and there are alot of them!), trapped by lifes circumstances, the need for working, supporting a family. mortgage etc...

life can change direction quickly for people...especially with a little help from you....re-examine goals in life and be realistic....

try and take timeout, a walk in the park...especially with those closest...you may not think it, but they probably already realise there is a problem and are likely to be more understanding than anyone....
This book will help you more than any psychologist or any prescription drugs: ';Emotional Resilience'; by David Viscott, MD. Just read the Amazon.com reviews if you don't believe me that it could very well change your life. I've been off meds and discovered so much about myself over the last year, and feel so much better since reading this book.

No more road rage, depression, OCD thoughts, bursts of anger, confusion about where these feelings are coming from and what to do about them... There are simple things in this book that if any psychologist had just told me could've saved me three years of pointless therapy. It's like they're all incompetent or improperly trained?

Emotions come from real events, they don't just inflict themselves on you like some disease as people would have you believe, and you have to face these events, remember them, and change the way you think about them, either just from realizing the source of your hurt, or from actively forgiving the people who've hurt you, and especially forgiving yourself.
GO BACK TO YOUR ROOTS DUDE AND TRY TO JOIN A YOGA GROUP. EAT LESS MEAT AND DARK DRINKS; TRY DRINKING LOTS OF TEA. GREEN TEA IS THE BEST.
Set up an appointment for counseling. Insurance usually covers it or you can usually find places that offer it on a sliding scale. No matter what anyone says this is not something to play around with. You may never do anything dangerous to yourself or anyone else but depression can impact every aspect of your life. There is help out ther. Everyone deserves to be happy.
Hi, I can feel your pain. Let me give you some tough love. Dump your gf. If she cant help you with this problem in anyway, what good is she anyway? she's dead weight. Secondly, whats keeping you from moving back to the East Coast? If you are not able to do any of those things for whatever reason, I would suggest getting a cannabis club card. It will definately help you with your depression, and you might meet some new friends. When Im feeling the way your describing, I will force myself to be social, as uneasy as I might be at first, I always end up having a good time! keep your head up.

My 3yr. old chihuahua keeps yelping when she moves a certain way. It seems to be her neck? Any advice?

I haven't been able to isolate the pain area. It just happens when she moves certain ways or if one of the other chiwa's bump into her. She yelps alot when coming out of her crate or moving under the covers. It seems to be her neck. If I move her legs or neck she just shakes, but doesn't yelp. Somebody please help!!My 3yr. old chihuahua keeps yelping when she moves a certain way. It seems to be her neck? Any advice?
go to the vet ASAP. poor little dog... dogs don't yelp unless they are in a good amount of pain....My 3yr. old chihuahua keeps yelping when she moves a certain way. It seems to be her neck? Any advice?
sounds like she may hae a pulled muscle or worse a pinched nerve. this should be checked by the vet beofre it becomes worse.
I think it could be her neck, you should probably check with a vet. but for now you could try a warm water bottle by her neck or a neck pillow. hope she feels better!

I am a Bride to be ..Do you have any advice you can give me on my wedding day?

I am a Bride to be ..Do you have any advice you can give me on my wedding day? From personal experience or anythingI am a Bride to be ..Do you have any advice you can give me on my wedding day?
Yes, have a few drinks to relax your nerves. This is going to be a great day and every ';worst nightmare'; that you could immagine will not happen. Enjoy the Day and take everything in. You will remember every detail for the rest of your life! Also, at the Reception, make sure you and your husband get to everyone who attended the wedding and thank them for coming.

I just got Married in January, and although it was a relief when all the stress was gone and everthing was over, expect to feel more tired than you ever have in your life. The Honeymoon will help you get back to normal, just make sure you relax and enjoy it!

Best of luck! I am very happy for you!I am a Bride to be ..Do you have any advice you can give me on my wedding day?
I know you've heard this 1,000 times, but it is ';your day.'; My husband wrote me this awesome note the night before the wedding and had his brother (the best man) bring it to me while we were getting ready at the church. I couldn't read it because I almost cried and I didn't want to mess up my makeup! :)

Do something like this for your fiance, he will remember it forever. Make it something that you took time to make or buy. Put a ton of thought into something that he wants.
I'm a bride to be too!

    I'm getting married in 1 week! ! !

My advice to myself is to relax and breathe.

I've heard that when you are relaxed you won't cry!

I'm so worried about crying...because we've been through so much as a couple and our love is so powerful.

I'm going to try and concentrate on my breathing...deep breaths...and make sure that my body is not tense.

Wishing you all the very best : )
I know everyone is and has already told you this but relax. I'm a wedding/event planner with over 9 years under my belt. Whatever you do don't drink, I repeat DON'T DRINK. Take a deep breath and smile because in 2 seconds it will all be over. People couldn't believe me on my big day after planning the entire wedding for over 160 people and doing all of the decor and favors I was so calm. I wish all the best and you'll be just fine.
    Relax and enjoy it.

Don't worry if something goes wrong. With that many moving parts, something is bound to go wrong. Just laugh and move on.

Remember the most important part is that you and your husband get married. All the rest can go down the tubes and it'll still be a success.

    Good luck.
    FIRST CONGRATS!

SECOND dont be too nervous and get cold feet

THIRD maybe when your walking down the isle you should like look at the people and smile

FOURTH look your groom in the eyes while reciting your vows

It's not an advice book which I know is what you're looking for. But it's a book by a gay male including short stories from his life, which maybe people could relate to. It's called ';possible side effects'; but Augusten Burroughs.

Is there any advice that you can give me to be a good busboy?

I am starting a job soon as a bus-boy and was wonder if anybody can give me advice and how to be a busboy and a good oneIs there any advice that you can give me to be a good busboy?
    1) Don't steal the server's tips!

    2) Make sure you stay on top of keeping your server's section clean...the more tables they turn, the more money they make and the more money they have to tip you out at the end of your shift.

    3) Don't be loud, messy, or annoying to the surrounding guests enjoying their meals.

    4) If you're walking by a table in the restaurant and notice somebody has put some dirty dishes on the end of their table to get rid of them go ahead and grab them even if it's not your section. Servers will notice this and request you in their sections. Then you can bus for the best server and get MORE $$$!!!

    5) This is the most important of all......DO NOT PISS OFF THE DISHWASHER! This person usually doesn't speak English, but it won't matter because you will know when they are mad!

Oh, and I definitely suggest watching the movie Waiting with Ryan Reynolds (Van Wilder).....That movie is so funny, and it will give you a clue as to what it will be like working in a restaurant!

Good luck and have fun :)Is there any advice that you can give me to be a good busboy?
Be the invisible busboy with the clean dish bin and cloth. Don't make eye contact with the customers. Work fast, quietly, and stay out of the way.
always be polite to the customers

always smile and make everyone like u
    Don't break the dishes!!!!
    Don't drop the bus tray.
don't eat the food left in the plates untill ofter you have taken it to the back, trust me on that one.
uhhhhhhh be nice? i dont know why are you asking this

I need advice on effective note taking during lectures. Any helpful systems and tips would be appreciated!?

I have heard of Cornell note taking. Is it helpful? What free websites offer effective note taking?I need advice on effective note taking during lectures. Any helpful systems and tips would be appreciated!?
The first thing I would suggest is to look up the professor's previous exams. Most colleges have past exams on the school website or on file in the library. Looking at the exams are really helpful because it will let you know what kind of information the professor will be looking for. For example, some professors are detail oriented and they want you to know all the dates and names, etc. - for these professors, you'll want to write down all the specifics and probably write down everything that the professor says during the lecture, word for word. Other professors' exams are more theory or idea - oriented. They don't care about specific dates or times, but rather want you to grasp the general idea or purpose. For these professors, you don't need to write down everything word for word, but instead write down important ideas or themes that the professor discusses in class.

In addition, do all of your reading before your class and take notes while doing the reading. Writing notes outside of class will jog your memory while in class. If you've already written down something and the professor mentions it again in class, you know it's important. Also when going over your notes or textbooks, only highlight important key words or phrases. Do not highlight everything.I need advice on effective note taking during lectures. Any helpful systems and tips would be appreciated!?
The main thing is prepare for the class and pay attention to key points within the lecture. Sit in front of the lecture hall or classroom. Ask questions if you need clarification on a point. Watch for verbal and body language of the professor or instructor clues for major points during a lecture. Write detailed notes. Include visuals if needed. Also, take advantage of the instructor's or professor's office hours if additional help is needed along with the campus' tutoring center.
listen and summarize what they say!!!

I need some ways to help motivate my school and i need to think of some rewards advice would be great?

i am on the leadership council at my school and we have to think of ways to help motivate my friends and school mates also every friday we get rewards and i cant think of any to help these kids have fun any ideas pleaseI need some ways to help motivate my school and i need to think of some rewards advice would be great?
If I am reading this correctly you need to come up with something that would happen during the school day rather than a monetary reward. Based on that: a build your own ice cream sundae day, movie with popcorn, if you wear school uniforms perhaps a day to wear your regular clothing (within guidelines), music played during a study time, depending where you live (weather concerns) an afternoon of outdoors for some fun, silly games like dodge ball. Hope this will at least get your own thought process goingI need some ways to help motivate my school and i need to think of some rewards advice would be great?
There has to be a certain reward. Put yourself in your classmates shoes and ask what reward you would like if you did something right.

Any advice for a background actor wanna-be?

I've decided that I want to be a background actor for film/tv. I'm heading down to Central Casting in Burbank soon to toss my hat in the ring. I was thinking it might be a fun little hobby more than an actual job (I never rely on acting to actually make money). Does anyone have an experience with background acting on here? Any advice? Anything I should know?Any advice for a background actor wanna-be?
Just make sure you don't get scammed. You should never have to pay for an agent or have to take special classes from someone.

Also, when you go to take your headshots/interview/etc. make sure you wear an outfit you are really comfortable in. They judge alot of you on your outfit an appearance, and you really want that to come though in your clothes.Any advice for a background actor wanna-be?
I think the rule is, The more of a wannabe you are, the shitter your carrer will be.

How do i get over my now ex bf, was my first and i though only love, advice much appreciated?

i tryed to get rid of him in the beginning because i didnt want to get hurt than i realized i wanted him, he came to see me because it was long distance and now he doesnt want me anymore after 8 months. i dont know if i should get rid of everything he ever gave me and delete his pictures. so how do i move on?How do i get over my now ex bf, was my first and i though only love, advice much appreciated?
That exact same thing happened to me a few years ago. And I believe that's the reason why I can give you my advice. Cause I tried a hundred things to get over him, specially because he was my first true love.

At first, it was really hard not to cry every time I saw him or remember him. But time DOES make it all better. I didn't delete anything from him. I still have every e-mail he sent me, and that wonderful and special teddy bear. And the reason why I kept all these things was because they remind me of that feeling: true love. They don't hurt, they bring happiness to my life. Today, he is a precious memory for me. Even though he stopped loving me long time before I stopped loving him... what I felt was a sad feeling and not an angry one. I don't know how you feel, but if it's not anger, then you shouldn't treat him and his stuff with anger. Sadness is fine, at least for a while before moving on. This lost is good and it may be one of the best things that will happen in your life, even if today it seems impossible, one day you'll see what I mean. Thanks to that lost love I had, I noticed how blessed I was to ever have felt something as great and pure as that. I would do it all over again even if it had to end like it did! It was worth it. It will be worth it for you too, someday. Don't lose hope, wait, pray... I wish you the best! (PS. sorry for my crappy English)How do i get over my now ex bf, was my first and i though only love, advice much appreciated?
you don't have to throw out whatever he gave you or delete every picture of him. it's just telling yourself that you're angry with him. anger helps someone to let go but it also makes the process longer and you return to the experience with bitterness over and over again. i suggest you imagine yourself letting him go and walk out the door ';finally';. Make a monologue as if you're talking to him. Tell him you're giving him up now and you'll move on. Let yourself listen to your own voice when you talk to him. finally, smile and say goodbye. letting someone go happily will help you restore your self-respect and sanity more easily.

I also suggest you repeat a statement to yourself over and over again, something like ';I am a wonderful person and I deserve only the best.'; Something positive and repeat this to yourself every time you feel alone and sad.
Just keep busy. Love yourself again. %26amp; reconnect with activites that make you happy. You will get over him if you ALLOW yourself to. You don't wanna be those girls who hold onto old relationships.

He will eventually date again, %26amp; you're gonna have to respect his new relationships.

Where can I get a pre test to be a casino dealer? Or some advice...?

I have an interview at an opening casino in less than two weeks. I have never ';dealt'; before and don't know a whole lot about it. I'm worried about the math test and want to take one before I take theirs but don't know what it will detail. And maybe just send me some information on dealing and the counts and everything like that:) Thank you for your time.Where can I get a pre test to be a casino dealer? Or some advice...?
There is alot more to dealing than knowing how to count to 21. There are alot of policies and procedures to Blackjack. You say you have never dealt before and this is an opening casino. I am going to assume that they plan on training you to be a dealer. If this is the case, the math test is pretty basic. You just need to know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

During your interview, just make sure you appear to be friendly and have an upbeat attitude. Casinos are looking for people who will talk to the guests and try to provide a pleasurable gaming experience. Good luck!!!

You will have to get a gaming badge in order to be a dealer. What state are you in?

  • I have a king Charles and he snores all the time, anyone have any advice if this is ok or needs to be checked?

no, cavaliers are snorers! they also grunt when you cuddle them or give affection.

you may want to get him checked if........he has a particularly short nose, or if this snoring has just suddenly come on.I have a king Charles and he snores all the time, anyone have any advice if this is ok or needs to be checked?
he needs to be checked out.

he could have a deformation of his nostrils, sinuses or soft palate. or an infection. if so, he'll have other breathing problems when he's running around or excited.

definitely get him checked out, there are surgeries to correct the deformations.I have a king Charles and he snores all the time, anyone have any advice if this is ok or needs to be checked?
~brachycephalic (short snout) dogs are often snorers, sniffler and sneezers. Have him checked to make sure nothing is wrong, but I have a Peke, shih-tzu and 2 shi pups and they all snore. After awhile you will get use to it.

the one thing you have to becareful of is over heating. They don't get enough airflow through their noses to cool their blood like longer snouted dogs do. I keep a fan mozt of the year on, its on the floor behind a wire box hubby made. they get the air, but can't get to close.
I have a beagle and he has snored his entire life. It should be nothing, but you should have him checked. A friend had a beagle that snored also and he had a problem in his sinus passages.
Most blunt faced dogs snore because of how they are made.

Most smashed faced dogs have snoring issues. Get use to it and learn to love it.
i have a dalmation and a springer spaniel and they both snore really loudly and they are both fine
it is okay.. both of my dogs do it and very loudly and they are healthy as a horse.... dont worry, he's fine... just get you some ear plugs....lol
I have a wife who is just the same !!!

Troubled If any females that would be able to shed some advice would be fantastic and tips from men would be?

Great to. I have been dating my wonderful G/F for 8 months now and everything was great, but within the first 3 months she had a serious sexual conversation with a guy she barely knows. I obviously found out and after reading what was contained in there was things like what she would do to him etc etc and saying he was such a lovely guy. I was absolutely sick to my stomach very hurt and extremely angry. When i approached her with this she got extremely upset and apologized over and over again and i did forgive her but told her that it extremely hurt me. Long story short she said she will never do those things again but im very unsure i know she will never physically cheat on me but mentally for me is just as bad. She left facebook up on the pc without logging out and sure enough there was a conversation with another fellow not as sexual but still have enough that i feel bad and upset. She is my first longtime/serious girlfriend is this behavior normal in women i would never dream of acting like this as it is just unthinkable to have these conversations with anyone as im in a relationship. Am i being to sensitive is there a way to approach the situation I'm 24 she is 21Troubled If any females that would be able to shed some advice would be fantastic and tips from men would be?
No, this is not normal behaviour for men or women that are in a relationship...she obviously either has a serious mental issue, or she doesn't feel the same way about you as you do her.

8 months is not a long time, lol, maybe at your age but it's not really. If she's done this twice to you in that length of time, she isn't going to stop. If she's cheating on you mentally don't kid yourself, it will turn into physically when she meets the right one.

Don't let her continue to hurt you. You don't sound like the sharing type, so dump her and find someone who wants to be with you, and only you. You're young, and it's not fair to you to waste your time on someone like her.Troubled If any females that would be able to shed some advice would be fantastic and tips from men would be?
Dump her. She's probably been doing it the whole time and isn't going to stop..Sorry but you deserve better.
Wow, yeah that's pretty messed up, but it does happen. I never do that kind of thing but I found out that my ex husband was doing the same thing with a girl on myspace while we were married??? I think it is absolutely ridiculous, it makes him look stupid. Anyways, if she is doing this, it is up to you how to deal with it. It hurts you so why stick around and continue to let her do this to you? She will continue to do it as long as she can get away with it, it's an obsession and also a way to make her feel better about herself. She won't give it up.

Could I be pregnant, i need some advice?

The last time I had my period was September 30th to October 3rd, so from the internet calculator I would be 6w3d. And Im 16 days late. My back is hurting, some small belly pains, headaches, very moody, im tired all the time, i get dizzy easy, some bloating, no morning sickness yet, but nausea after certain smells, in the morning, and after eating a little bit. I took a pregnancy test after 3 days late, and 11 days late but both were negative. This would be my first time being pregnant, and im just curious.Could I be pregnant, i need some advice?
see your gyn for STD testing %26amp; an exam. use condoms.Could I be pregnant, i need some advice?
you do have clear symptoms of pregnancy and your period is late..but both pregnancy tests were negative. i would suggest taking another pregnancy test. for best results do it with the first pee of the morning. good luck!
Yes you could be good luck.
I would see a doctor not use yahooanswers for something like this.
it sounds very probable. i would get a test done at your obgyn.
You could be pregnant, depending on what brand test you used it may not have picked up that you are pregnant based on how high your hormone levels are. I'd suggest seeing your doctor for a blood test, and just to get checked out. If you aren't normally late and have a regular cycle it could be something else causing you to be late, or just the fact that you are stressing over possibly being pregnant.
    GO TO THE DOCTOR!!

There are cases where the pregnancy tests bought at the store are not sensitive enough, giving a false negative, and/or there could be something seriously wrong.

Since you did not mention your age, could it be the change?
u could be but u look to young to be having sex
The symptoms all sound like you are, but it's odd a pregnancy test isn't showing that you are. I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks by a test, go see a doctor
you might be pregnant, i am actually having the same symptoms except i did have morning sickness, but another reason u might be late is stressing out or thinking too much about this situation sometimes when people think to much about a pregnancy or being pregnant they develop pregnancy symptoms so i hope i helped hun
Hmm reading the first bit I was thinking, yep she's pregnant. But if you took a decent test, especially 11 days after your missed period, and it came out negative I dought you are, as by then you would have had plenty of hcg levels in your system. If I was in your shoes I'd take one more test then go to the doctors. Good look.
Sounds like you are pregnant. It is possible to have low hCG levels (pregnancy hormone) that you will test negative. Go to your doctor tell them what is happening and ask them for a blood test to determine pregnancy.
It sounds like you have the symptoms of an early pregnancy but today's pregnancy test are pretty accurate, However it can be wrong. I would suggest you take a trip to your OBGYN,Either you are pregnant or something else is going on. Other illnesses may present with the same symptoms as a pregnancy.Either way you will need to see your doctor. Good Luck!
you need to go to the doctor and get a blood test ASAP
you could my sister had the same problem and your probably getting a negative test because it might be to early to tell so its best to go to the docters and get a blood test so good luck love
Yes you could be pregnant for sure. Your symptoms all sound like pregnancy symptoms. My advice would to take a test first thing in the morning and make sure you are doing it correctly. First morning urine is way more accurate than from the middle of the day. If it is still negative, wait and see if you get your period next month. If you don't you should probably go into the doctor and get a blood test. If the blood test is negative it was probably just stress causing your periods to be irregular. Good luck

I am 38 and about to be single. It has been a while since l have been on a date. Got any advice?

Like I said it has been almost 15 years and I am afraid I might be a little out of practice.I am 38 and about to be single. It has been a while since l have been on a date. Got any advice?
take your time day by day dont settle for second best and remember that there is always someone out there who will love you good luckI am 38 and about to be single. It has been a while since l have been on a date. Got any advice?
Don't rush into it, take your time and find the right guy. Don't think you have to hit the ground running. If and only if you should want to date, but don鈥檛 feel you have to鈥?br>

Bugjjo said to wait at least 3 dates, wait until you are asked, or if it's far enough along you can ask him if he wants to know.

If you enter a relationship with baggage you will leave with it very rapidly. No one wants to hear it, or be compared to...it鈥檚 history.

    Dating hasn't changed...
First rule!! never talk about your X on a date. At least wait 3 dates before mentioning it. Focus on today and what your interests are and sound interested and complement!!!

    YOU WILL ROCK!!! Good luck!
My sister has been in the same situation and trying to find someone around this area. At this age, everyone is married and the pickin's is slim! She went to match.com, I believe it was, and has met a very nice fellow who lives about 45 minutes away. Of course, you need to be very careful, but it's a useful tool. You can get to know them via internet at first which is easier than a blind date, for sure! I'm sure you'll fall right back into it!
Take your time. It is a BIG mistake to start dating right after divorce. You are not in good emotional shape for that. Take time to nurture your friendships and yourself. Get to know yourself again and try to be independent for a while. You will grow into a person who is ready to take on the world of dating with confidence. If you rush, you will probably just make another mistake! Or you might just cling to who ever you meet so you wont feel lonely--not good!

  • During the summer, I am going to be a camp counselor...ADVICE?

I am 15 going on 16 and will be working as a camp counselor for younger kids (ages 3-5 I think). I have never had a job before and am kind of nervous. Any advice on how to be a good counselor? Thanks.During the summer, I am going to be a camp counselor...ADVICE?
Congratulations! That can be a great summer job. Years ago, when I was a camp counselor... the job entailed running a certain activity. The key was to keep things organized so that each camper had the materials they needed. Then we taught them how to use the materials. Your job may be quite a bit different... but I am guessing that you will still need to provide some form of instruction and keep supplies, materials, and little campers organized. There should be a camp directer there to show you what to do. My advice... don't be afraid to speak up when you see little campers or anything else get off track, but be sure to do so in a friendly way. Also, show that you are willing to ';step up'; by offering to do things (like run for the forgotten supply or do some extra clean up). I hope you enjoy the job!

Bring lots of patience. And after they wear you out.. open another can of patience. If you have a lot of patience - you will do fine.

I find it hard to be comfortable and confident around women any advice?

Just be yourself. A lot of my guy friends try to pretend to be someone they are not, and since they don't listen to my advise, they usually fall flat on their faces. Don't lie to a girl, because that makes them not like you more. Why are u uncomfortable around them? What do they do that makes you uncomfortable? Scared that you might get clumsy and mess up? Actually, girls thinks that's cute, so don't be afraid to show a little of your funny side. Just think of them as one of the guys, just be a lot more sensitive to them, they are more sensitive with their emotions so don't be too much of a man around them, as in don't say anything too insulting.I find it hard to be comfortable and confident around women any advice?
