Advice on How to be popular?

I want to start of the New Year with a brand new attitude. I was never shy but I was a little bit picky. I want to be more popular and have more charisma. Does anyone know how I can do that? I want to have so many friends. Please help me. Advie ONLY!

p.s: I'd prefer not to hear ';Just be yourself';Advice on How to be popular?
One tip I heard is to always use names. Yer prolly like ';what?'; 0_o But really, it helps. For instance, whenever you ask a question, say their name first as a prompt.

Another thing that helps your respect level is your ability to talk about OTHERS rather than directing the attention to yerself. Many ppl like to talk about themselves. Ask about their vacation or trips, etc. Just try to make the conversation about them.

I hope I helped with these 2 lame suggestions XDAdvice on How to be popular?
It will take some practice, but try doing things like when you walk in the classroom say something funny and loud that you know ppl will hear. Then say something like ';oops, did I say that, my bad'; and sit down. If you do little things like that every so often, it's a start, and people will start to notice you. Do or say little short things in front of an ';audience';, but don't over do it, only once in a while.
just chill %26amp; talk to all different sorts of people.

im on varsity cheer, but i talk to the so called nerds and the stoners.

you just have to have a variety of friends, get into different groups of people. join clubs %26amp; have fun.

ive always been in cheer %26amp; dance, %26amp; this year i got really involved with theatre, sign language, invisable children and french club, and ive made a ton of new friends.

start talking to the people that sit next to you in your classes. you'd be amazed at the friends you'll make, people you would've never given a second glance in the halls, and they'll be tons of fun

%26amp;%26amp; use names!!! you'd be suprised how much it helps to call people by their name or nickname, like when i see my friend grant, i always say hey mr.grant, and when i see daniel ill be like hey babycakes (thats my nickname for him)

and having parties is good, if your parents will let you. idk how old you are, but im a sophmore, and parties are great places to meet new people.

most importantly, dont care what people say. people start rumors cause they're jealous. just hold your head up high %26amp; have confidence. people can tell when you believe in yourself, and they'll want to get to know you better.

hope this helps =))
I don't think it's about charisma, I think it is about being relateable. A few things I learned from Tony Robbins is to not stand out too much or be different or quirky or super unique. I would refrain from expressing dramatic opinions on anything, and be ';light';.

Have your high standards but be open and non judgmental. You may not really like someone, but they don't need to know it! Not everyone needs to know your opinion. Learn how to joke around and be fun to be around, but don't allow people to disrespect you. If someone does, don't call them out on it, just be ';busy'; next time they call. Always be friendly.

Good luck and have fun. Enjoy people and be genuinely interested in them.
Don't think about what others are thinking about you.

Rather, think of what good you can do for them without wanting them to notice you. If you keep being yourself and help others in a very noble and friendly way, then people will begin to realize the kind of person you are. It will then become a natural friendship for you.

Hope this helps.
your Just be yourself ACTUALLY IS the answer. No front, no lies no games and no agenda will keep your friends. Many friends are nice but what is best is just a few good ones. I wish you luck and don't worry high school will be over soon and all that mess will be forgotten...and it won't matter a bit in real life!
So don't you want to 'be yourself'? There's nothing worse than having a fake person in your company. Seriously, be who you were meant to be and one day down the line people will be envious coz you were able to just be you and not be fake just to impress others.
Be confident. Be friendly. Be yourself.
Act like you don't care what popular people think.

You will get a reputation. Not saying it's a good one, though. Heh heh...
