My friends dog is a week overdue with her first litter of puppies how much longer before vet advice is needed?

I'd have contacted the vet about 5 days ago. I've never seen a dog go to 70 days post-breeding. She's either off on her dates, or her dog isn't even pregnant. My friends dog is a week overdue with her first litter of puppies how much longer before vet advice is needed?
Now! Depending on how many times she was mated, you need to calculate the 62/63 days to give you the due date, and add on a couple of days either way. But after 48 hours of nothing happening, I'd be getting her to the vet to see what's going on. He may need to x-ray to find out if the puppies are viable (alive) and he will, depending on what he finds, possibly give her a shot to get things going. The car ride might start her off - so make sure you take whelping equipment, and a box with a warm bottle in it, with you, just in case.

Sometimes if a ****** only has a few puppies in there, they will sit .....

Vet - today! My friends dog is a week overdue with her first litter of puppies how much longer before vet advice is needed?
Well, really, she should be in contact with her breeding mentor. It depends on the history and experience of his/her genetically screened, CH b**** and what kinds of litters the genetically screened, CH stud throws. What did the x-rays taken after 45 days reveal?
She should already be talking with her vet AND making sure she has the breeding dates correct.

*sighs* typical byb.

Loki brought up a good point was pregnancy even confirmed?
3 days ago. Excessive delay can mean a litter of dead pups.
a vet was required yesterday
