Best of luck to you.

You will do just fine.

Bring a thick skin...on travel day try to get as much sleep as you can. If you are flying into SDF (louisville) try to get as much sleep as you can on the ride from the airport to the base (about 55 minutes or so)...the first day of basic is HELL!

Don't marry or fall for ANY of the women you meet in Radcliff...most are looking for some 'officer and a gentleman' type of romance. If you do get the chance to go to Louisville to party, SKIP anyplace in the west end of that town (quite dangerous).Im leaving for Basic (ft. Keep your mouth shut, eyes open and do exactly as you're told. Watch out who you make friends with. Follow all rules exactly and to the letter. Don't complain and do not take sides in arguments. Be an adult. Think ahead. Learn your new trade. Stand up straight, say what you mean, mean what you say. Don't let the screw ups bring heat down on you. Stay cool! No kiddin'!
Want some advice? Well, here's all you need to know. Beer: it's your best friend, you drink a lot of it. Women: you're grunt so that's pretty much out of the question. Will you have a car? Someone on your baracks will; find them and make friends with them the first day.
Party and bang anything that moves.
