13 and a republican? For some reason i do not believe that...

If you want to run for congress, then you should stick to following politics and joining committee and getting your name out there...Im 13 and a republican. both my parents are libs. i want to be a senator one day can you give me advice?
You're the class clown, intelligent and you have a life... you sound like a pretty happy-go-lucky person.Seems to fly in the face of being a Republican sentator, where your role involves actively denouncing everyone who isn't like you. I'm assuming you look down on poor people and dislike homosexuals, illegal immigrants and those who don't support capitalism or war. I'm also assuming you're willing to pander to far-right Christian beliefs such as opposing stem-cell research and denying abortions to rape victims?

If not then get working on that hatred, son. You're gonna need it.
If you're going to be a Republican, you have to learn to hate Democrats from the bottom of your heart. You can't have one shred of respect for anybody that disagrees with your party line, because you'll be required to believe that your opponents are satan incarnated. In fact, you'll have to believe that Democrats aren't even human beings. Convince yourself of all the above and you'll be a good Republicans. Of course, it will probably be decades before America elects another Republican to anything, so the timing might work out for you about the time you turn fifty.
I strongly recommend you learn as much as you possibly can about US history and government.

Start by reading the US Constitution.

www.constitutionfacts.com.

There are countless government websites with endless info.

Go to www.usa.gov.

Because it's such a massive site, it takes a few minutes to get used to navigating it. But don't give up.

Pay particular attention to the ';Government Information by Topic'; section.

Go to www.whitehouse.gov, www.house.gov, and www.senate.gov.

That's a good start.

Good luck.
You will definitely have to work on your writing mechanics. It is at a 3rd grade level or worse. You will have to start with some remedial education. Mark Foley would be GLAD to offer you some free tutoring and mentor you on how to be a real Republican.
Research as much as you can and make your own judgments. Don't look for the mainstream media to give you the details, look them up on your own. Question everything. Respect your parents and hopefully they will respect your views.
A good politician faces facts as they lay, not how they dream or wish them to be. So if anything, please be a democrat.
Your party will be dead by the time you are eligible to be a Senator.
the republican party is corrupt , dont drag yourself down to their level .
You will grow up one day and see that your parents were right.
Take lots of vaseline to DC or learn to sprint.

Get good with your mouth you'll go far in your party.
Listen to your parents.
Then you should be a democrat. You sound pretty smart.
Don't go Lyle and Erik Menendez on your parents
God bless your parents.
go live in da caves then come back after 30 years.
Turn on Gen Beck on Fox news, the future doesn't look good for anyone!
I have four children, and you sound a lot like them. I think the main thing is that much of what gets taught in school is slanted. We home schooled and used old history books. We had one that was written 10 years after the Civil War, so my sons could see what really happened. They would talk to WWII vets to understand WWII. My point is that, in my mind, both parties have their issues, but the liberals seem to rewrite history often. If you study the founding fathers, or look at what they wrote, they believed in God, but you'll get a lot of input saying they didn't. That's just one example. The thought that Republicans don't like gay people or are hateful or don't care about poor people is so wrong. I work with single parents and the only help I've gotten (when it comes to political things or dealing with a court system) has come from Republicans. If you get a chance, there is a really good website www.wimp.com/thegovernment/ It shows the different types of government and what happened to other civilizations. It bothers me that liberals don't seem to look at history, they keep recommending the things that either have never worked or brought other civilizations down.

I was a financial planner for 12 years, and am very saddened by what is going on now. Japan did the same thing, they call it the 'lost decade.' Their stock market never did recover. When America has tried this in the past, it didn't work, just made things worse later.

So, do independent study and question everything - even what I wrote. Keep your independence of thought, find the facts. Remember that people are the most important thing - and you'll be a great senator. As for the people who answered you that were insulting and judgmental - well, you'll always run into people like that. In my mind, they just disqualified themselves from being listened to.

I hope you do well. It's wonderful to see a young person who has dreams. Hang on to them.
