Cool guys are losers!!! (except for my hubby, lol)If there was one piece of advice that you wish you had received/followed as a teenager, what would it be?
Think long term: You have a lot of life ahead of you, and in a few years your teen problems will all seem laughable.
Go to college. Stay out of debt.
Be who you are and want to be not what others expect you to be or of you. Pretty well followed it; the few times I didn't were dead end roads and not happy memories.
Answer to the following question: ';When do you know that you have found true love [from another person]?';
Answer: ';When your lover defines himself/herself as a ';helpful'; person, a ';help mate';-- not merely a 'soul mate.'';
Good luck!
Know when to be a leader and know when to be a follower.
Do whatever it takes for you to be happy, even if people think you're completely nuts.
Cherish every moment of being a kid 'cuz it don't last long.
Don't try to be someone you're not.
Your parents really do know best, and if you think that they will be pissed when they find out about something you do wrong then they probably will so don't do it in the first place. Good luck to you.
Live life to the fullest! (legally and safe that is)
dont hold back! do what you want to do with your life and dont worry about what others think!
Go to college and get a degree.
Don't get married.Have a career!
Take care of your health
If i knew i was going to live this long i would have taken much better care of myself.
SAVE MORE MONEY! I look back now and wished i would have just saved half of the money i spent in my teens on just frivolous junk.
Choose your friends, don't let your friends choose you.
My three would be:
Dont cry over that guy, you are only hurting yourself.
Stick in with your studies and you wont regret it.
Think of others more than you think of yourself.
I only did the middle one !! Live and Learn !
not get into debt!!
Don't drop out of college for a guy!! Take care of yourself first.
Keep in touch with your friends, they will still be there when your boyfriend is long gone.
how to manage my money
Dont take things for granted.
Dont wish my childhood away or try to grow up too fast.
Make something of myself (ie college good job etc)
There are a few others but i really cant remember right now.
If you only hang around with rich people, you will marry a rich person. JOKE!
Actually, they encouraged me to not ever do anything I would have to lie about. That if I had to lie about it, it wasn't worth doing!
i would of moved to florida, or tried to be a model.
but i agree with jay, find the rich people,. lol.
don't drink
don't smoke
don't try out recreational drugs
cans of air spray cleaners are for cleaning computers and not for inhaling
never park your car on the rail road tracks
get your pets from a pet store, don't catch them from the wild
.... i am sure there is a lot more that i didn't listen to, i just can't remember them all. Its like whatever they told me not to do i had to do it.... I parked my 84 honda civic on the rail road tracks because there was no empty spaces!!!!!
It's ok to break away and march to the beat of a different drum, but still remember what is right and always do it.
Be true to yourself and don't let other people discourage you from going after what you really want.
Don't get a credit card.
I'm 25 and still paying the price...
I was a mostly well-behaved teen,
and i remember my uncle telling me that i need to ';go out and get crazy because before you know you'll be almost thirty, married to that boyfriends of yours with kids';
and I didn't listen. And he was right. I'm two years away from thirty, I did marry my boyfriend since early high school, and I do have kids [ three of them]. And I don't know where the years went. So I wish sometimes that I HAD lived it up a little more, and been a little crazier. but not too crazy.
